Yogapulia retreat 2024

I’m returning to this magical spot next year for the week of 21st - 27th September… it will be the fourth time there. Last September was fantastic, with stunning autumnal light but warm, balmy days by the pool or in the sea (both of which were still great to swim in). The reason I keep going back? Yogapulia was built and is run by people with a long, established practice of Astanga yoga. Mark and Nicola made this place to share it with like minded teachers and their fellow yoga students. As a result, it has authenticity at its very core. Yogapulia also has a powerful connection with the land, the centre grows its  own fruit and vegetables and presses  its own olive oil. The retreat centre is small, with only 12 places. This gives it a cozy and restorative atmosphere with plenty of time to get extra guidance on the mat. We’ll take time over morning Mysore practice then retire for brunch. There is plenty of opportunity to explore or laze by the pool before daily (optional) afternoon workshops. Last but not least dinner. All meals are cooked from local, seasonal ingredients.

The setting is stunning. Yogapulia is in the heart of the Valle d’Itria…with forested hills, quiet olive groves and the unique conical domes of Trulli all around. It is a stone’s throw from the ancient whitewashed cities of Cisternino and Ostuni and a short hop from Puglia’s two main transport hubs, Bari and Brindisi. The beaches of the Adriatic are even closer. Yet it feels like you’re miles from anywhere.
